A Powerful New T’ai Chi (Taiji) Qigong, and Meditation Research Platform

Dr. Yang Yang’s weekly online live classes of integrated t’ai chi (taiji), qigong fundamentals (including meditation) offers an ideal platform for researchers to study the health benefits and mechanisms of these healing arts. Participants learn simple exercises and meditation practices, selected carefully from traditional Chinese t’ai chi qigong training, and philosophy that address fundamental health issues, such as sleep, stress, mood, balance, fall prevention, fatigue, bone density and so forth. The online curriculum allows the participants to experience a group class in the comfort of their own home. Carefully systematized, it offers an excellent structure for researchers with an interest in chronic (back) pain, stress, balance, sleep, immune function, cognition, and a host of other difficulties that may submit to holistic practices.

We have just completed one study, led by Dr. Judi Fouladbakhsh of Oakland University and her team, on the effects of t’ai chi and qigong on self-management of pain, stress and sleep in breast cancer survivors. We have an ongoing randomized, controlled trial, led by Dr. Lin Yang, a cancer epidemiologist at Cancer Care Alberta, testing the efficacy of our integrated program in reducing anxiety in prostate cancer patients before prostate removal surgery, and reducing treatment-related side effects afterwards.

If you are a researcher and are interested in using this platform please fill out the form on this page.
