Tai Chi and Qigong for Back Pain
Improve Sleep, Reduce Stress, and Restore Balance
An educational workshop exploring Tai Chi and Qigong as gentle, evidence-informed practices for chronic back pain and whole-body well-being. Participants will explore slow, intentional movement, stillness, and meditation practices to release tension, strengthen spinal stability, and examine and transform the roots of stress and anxiety. The session draws from core principles examined in a recent randomized controlled trial of Tai Chi and Qigong for chronic low back pain.
The workshop will include a presentation by Roger Härtl, MD, a leader in minimally invasive spine surgery at Weill Cornell Medicine, who will share clinical perspectives on integrative, multidisciplinary approaches to spine care.
Participants will also learn about recent clinical research on a virtual Tai Chi and Qigong program for chronic low back pain, published in the North American Spine Society Journal.
Dates: Friday–Sunday, November 20–22, 2026
Format: In-person workshop
Registration: Information forthcoming
