Weill Cornell and Och Spine are leading the way in treating low back pain with tai chi!

Our randomized controlled trial just published in NASSJ compared a virtually delivered mind-body program integrating tai chi, qigong, and meditation (VDTQM) to a waitlist control for the purpose of evaluating VDTQM as a potential treatment option for low back pain (LBP). The VDTQM group experienced reductions in pain related disability scores, pain intensity and sleep disturbance at weeks 8, 12, and 16. They also experienced an improvement in quality of life at the same timepoints. These findings suggest that VDTQM is a viable treatment option for patients with LBP.
